In the Bright Existence (1976 / 2nd Production): Back Cover / Overview575 viewsImage provided by Sears Eldredge. Sears writes:

"This production was an original adaptation of the Quiche Maya Book of Counsel as translated by Munro S. Edmundson of Tulane University and the Mesoamerican Institute into a performance text. His translation, used with his permission, used his special recording of the Quiche Maya words / phrases I wanted to use as part of the performance text.

Traditional and original music was performed by the students. Costumes and masks were based on archeological and traditional sources reflecting various ancient Mesoamerican cultures.

The second production of this piece performed two years later was JMC’s contribution to the University’s Bi-centennial Celebration highlighting the fact that there were other peoples with cultures severely damaged by the arrival of Europeans who should not be forgotten about.

The Door565 viewsPhoto provided by Sears Eldredge. Sears writes:

"The Door — by E. B. White — a mental patient rambles on as we see images going in his head (a film back projected over his head — subjective camera) of walking endlessly down the anonymous corridors (the same Baker Hall corridors that the audiences are passing through in the Labyrinth show) in pursuit of the “Minotaur” who is just glimpsed passing out of sight in the distance. We also glimpse other figures: a Nurse, two of the White on White figures, until we turn a corner and come upon a cleaning woman — the camera pulls back as she heads towards us and we see the Minotaur crouching on a window ledge in the distance behind her). The camera dollys towards an office door (like the Detention Room door), the door opens and for a moment we see the Minotaur crouched in the corner of the room. This will be the same room used as the Detention Room. — Performed in the TV studio."

Megan Terry's Home: Cast List (2 of 2)562 viewsThis multimedia production involved ... two different casts who alternated the performances. Each cast became the crew for the other cast’s production! ... Even though they were a great group of students, I never tried double casting a show again
