Gary Haas1072 viewsPhoto by Paul Buehrle. Paul writes:

"New artifacts found buried in the Mystery Texan archives. Pictures are from the 1971-72 school year. I can't remember if Gary Haas was JMC or not. ...

I took these pictures with an ancient Voltlander 35mm using a viewfinder and a flaky handheld lightmeter. These photos were all slides taken in 1971-72 and pretty much stayed in a slide cube all these years."

Tom Tamandl (who taught Spanish) and the poet, Carolyn Forche (who taught in the English program at JMC at the time), were enthusiastic supporters and performers in the show. Traditional and original music was performed by the students. Costumes and masks were based on archeological and traditional sources reflecting various ancient Mesoamerican cultures.
