This group photo was published in the 1975 JMC 10th Anniversary tabloid over the caption: "JMC Faculty - Guess When!" The precise "When" remains a mystery, though the combination of people shown (to judge from the scanty and indirect evidence of the JMC Staff matrix) would seem to date to the period 1967 - 1969. Lee Upcraft (cf. Miscellaneous Notes below) says he believes it was taken in 1967 or 1968. This is consistent with the presence of Harold Johnson, who first taught in JMC in 1967. If anyone can precisely date this photo or identify anyone as yet unidentified within it, please Contact the Editor In June 2002 Stewart Lachman kindly forwarded me a photocopy of the 1975 tabloid page. While I was contemplating how to go about scanning it, Cleo Parker saved me the trouble by sending in a scan of the photo. If the photo seems a bit low-resolution, please note this presentation version is a heavily-tweaked electronic scan of the image on the tabloid's faded newsprint page.
Thanks, Cleo! Thanks, Stewart!

Miscellaneous Notes: Wow! That picture brought back a flood of memories. I was at JMC from 1966 to 1969 as Assistant to the Dean and Director of Student Relations. Here's what I remember about the picture: It was probably taken around 1967 or 1968 in the lobby of Snyder Hall. The person in the sweater is me, not Roger Stimson. Roger is in the last row, second from the right. - Lee Upcraft, July 2002 |
